I feel very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to work at the Alpine School Campus. Being located in a beautiful part of the Victorian Alps and the team of staff who I work with are all committed and highly capable. They too, also share a love for the outdoors and their local environment. Working with students from across the State, brings a range of life experiences to the school, whether it be from a country or city perspective, our students are all very special.

Within my teaching, I have spent the past 25 + consecutive years working with adolescents in a number of different residential schools and programs within Victoria and overseas. I have worked at Lauriston’s Howqua Campus, spent six years at Geelong Grammar School’s Timbertop Campus in a variety of educational roles including the Director of Outdoor Education. I have also taught at Wesley College’s Clunes Campus, notwithstanding my many years working at the Alpine School. Through DET and the SSL, I have taken student cohorts to China via the VYLC initiative on 5 occasions and in recent years worked at Bright P-12 College and also Wandiligong Primary, in the roles of Assistant Principal or acting Principal. All of these opportunities and workplaces have been highly rewarding, unique to their setting, memorable and highly experiential. I am grateful to have worked in such wonderful settings within Victoria.

Educationally, I have pursued studies in the areas of Automotive Mechanics, Applied Science (Recreation Planning and Management), Outdoor Education, Health and Physical Education, SOSE and ESL and completed a Certificate in Positive Education with The University of Melbourne. I had enrolled in a Diploma of Positive Psychology, yet that I am still working through that. I have also been fortunate enough to spent time experiencing different indigenous communities in Northern and Western Australia, which for me solidifies my gratitude. I am appreciative of all these opportunities, as I pursue growth, challenge and learning.

Family. I live in Bright with Kathryn, and we have three beautiful and energetic boys, who’s teenage, adolescent and now young adult years keep flourishing; Alex (aged 26), Matthew (aged 24) and William (aged 22) are all children we are very proud of. Apart from my family, my interests extend to football, team sports, cycling, camping, fishing, landscape photography and cross-country skiing.
