Generalist Teacher
David Chlebna
I have been involved in the Alpine School Program since 2001. I was initially a liaison teacher at Bundoora SC for 2 groups in term 3 2001 and 2002 where I was employed as a PE/Science teacher. I loved the program and the location of the Alpine School as I am a keen skier and had just started my training as a volunteer ski patroller at Mt Hotham. When a position became available at Alpine I went for it and have been enjoying working and learning with year 9 students ever since.
It is always inspiring seeing the development students undergo over their journey each term. It definitely inspired me to follow my own dreams and I have taken some leave to pursue my other career as a ski patroller at Mt Hotham and a couple of seasons overseas.
I have taken on a range of roles during my time at the school: Curriculum Co-ordinator, filling in as Campus Principal and now back into a teaching role where I enjoy supporting students more closely in their personal growth.
Along with playing in the snow I also enjoy surfing, tennis, growing food in my garden, going on adventures with my family and dominating the table tennis table at Alpine. I look forward to a challenge.
